WEEKLY REFLECTION 2
WEEKLY REFLECTION 2 (11 JULY - 15 JULY)
The second week of the teaching practise was a busy one for me. I need to complete the portions of both VIII and IX classes. In the first day I introduced a new lesson in VIII B, The light on the hills by Lucy Clifford. I used pictures and videos to enhance the teaching learning process. Meaning of difficult words were given through images and videos. So that the students could easily grasp the meaning of those words.
in the second day I got an hour at VIII C and took then remaining portions of the lesson The Light on the hills. In that day the teacher trainees were asked to serve meals for students. But this was a totally different experience for me and i really enjoyed it. According to the instruction provided by the HM all the teacher trainees should manage class before prayer. So, when we reach the school, we suddenly went to different classes and manage the students.
The third day of the second week started with a news that our optional teacher will visit the school to observe the classes. Our optional teacher informed us to arrange classes for the observation. In the afternoon session she reached the school and observed my class. I took The light on the hills in VIII B and the students cooperated well. After the class, teacher pointed out the mistakes and gave necessary correction. So I understand the mistakes in my teaching.
In the fourth and fifth day as usual I got a class at IX B and VIII C and took the remaining lessons there. In the fifth day and the last working day of that week I got a substitution hour in IX A. I conducted Sociometry. The class was interesting.
In the afternoon session a history quiz competition was conducted. Social Science Sreelatha teacher was in charge of the quiz competition. We controlled and managed the students. Around 50 students participated in the competition.
